Windows 11 FILE EXPLORER Allows access to ANDROID PHONES

Techno, Intuisi BlogMicrosoft is conducting tests of an innovative feature for Windows 11 that allows users to connect their Android phones via File Explorer. The feature, which is currently accessible only to Windows Insiders, allows seamless wireless access to every folder and data in Android devices. Users can access, open copies, transfer or move and erase files via their desktops, offering an improved user experience when managing files than the phones Link application.

HOW DO YOU ACCESS YOUR ANDROID PHONES WITH FILE EXPLORER

The latest feature allows Android devices into normal USB devices within File Explorer. You can now manage your files from your phone just as using any other storage device. The setup helps make file transfer faster and easier.

REQUIREMENTS:

In order to use this feature, you’ll need to:

  • An Android phone running version 11 or higher.
  • Beta versions of the Link to Windows app (version 1.24071 or later) downloaded in the handset.
  • Participation into the Windows Insider Program, running Windows 11, and participation within any of the Insider Channels.

Setup Instructions:

  • Click on settings and then Settings. Bluetooth and Devices and devices Mobile devices.
  • Choose ” Manage devices” and allow your PC access to your Android phone.
  • The option to display your phone’s location within File Explorer will appear. If not, this option may not have been made available to your device.

KNOWN Issues

Microsoft has discovered a few problems during the testing Phase:

  • The deletion of files on the phone with the help of a PC transfers the files to the Recycle Bin folder on the phone. There they remain for 5 days rather than the stated 30 days. The issue will be addressed with a subsequent update that will make sure that a deletion is automatic for 30 days.
  • Files deleted from the Recycle Bin folder on the phone might not appear within File Explorer. This problem will be fixed with an update coming soon.
  • Sometimes, phone-related files on the computer could not transfer on the mobile. Logging out and then back to your Windows accounts on your computer is a possible solution.

Available

The Windows Insider Program Team announced that the feature will be being gradually rolled across to Windows Insiders who have Android phones on every Insider Channel. It is a gradual process, which means that certain users could have access earlier than other users.

This feature added to Windows 11 is a major improvement in the connectivity between Windows PCs as well as Android devices. With the ability to provide quick and easy access to Android documents directly through File Explorer, Microsoft is improving user productivity and convenience. Be on the lookout for this option as it is made more accessible and you can enjoy a more smooth experience with managing your data across all devices.
